A: When debating whether working with us or not please consider the following, hope the below is reassuring enough:

A: Renting a bicycle is much easier than bringing your own bike; you don’t have to worry about carrying and paying for a flight bike travel case not to mention risking damaging your own bike. Please allow us to make your cycling experience in Javea as hassle and stress free as possible.

A: It couldn’t be easier to hire a bike from Relax`N`Ride. Simply give us your starting date, the duration of your hire, your bike preference and the size of the bike you normally ride – and let us handle the rest. Please find the official CUBE size chart

A: Yes, it is strongly recommended to book in advance. You can book online on our website. Alternatively, you can call or email to make a booking.

A: Yes, you can. However, in order to avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend you book in advance. Due to the limited availability and very high turnover during high seasons, we do not advise you just turning up.

A: Making a booking is very straightforward – please follow these three steps outlined below.

Step 1 – Browse through our rental bicycles, guided and self-guided tours, cycling holiday packages and find that suits you best.

Step 2 – Move the items to the basket, then fill out and submit our simple Enquiry Form with the additional personal and contact details.  

Step 3 – We will check the availability of the selected equipment and program for your chosen dates and within 24 hours we contact you via email sending through your Booking Form, the Terms and Conditions alongside with the scheduled payment details.

Once satisfied that all the details are correct, we ask you to sign and email the form back to us. The deposit of 20% of the total cost must be paid within 4 working days of returning the completed form in order to secure the reservation. When we have received both the signed Booking Form and the payment of the reservation deposit, we shall confirm your reservation in writing.

A: We will accept and hold unconfirmed reservation for a limited period of time. Your booking will not be confirmed until we receive your completed Booking Form and reservation deposit or full payment.

A: Yes, the deposit of 20% of the total cost must be paid within 4 working days of returning the completed form in order to secure your dates. Reservations may expire if a deposit is not received by that date. You will receive detailed payment instructions in our email confirmation about your booking.

A: You can make payment via our secure online payment system on the website, bank transfer or payment over the phone by card.

A: Full payment is due 4 weeks prior to your rental or tour date. You will receive a reminder email from us, so you can arrange the full payment similar way you did with the reservation deposit.

A: Upon receipt of the signed Booking Form and the reservation deposit your booking for the selected equipment and program is secure with us.

A: Yes, you can. We fully understand that you may need to change or cancel your rentals, possibly at short notice. Please send us an email to info@relaxnride.com for order cancellation

The following cancellation fees may apply:

  • Less than 14 days prior to date – 100% rental cost charged
  • 15-30 days prior to date – 50% of rental cost charged
  • More than 30 days – rental cost fully refunded

A: The main differences in between these bikes are outlined below. Please select one matching best your plans.

Road Bikes: as the name implies, road bikes are intended for paved roads. They’re distinguished by lightweight frames and skinny tires, designed to maximize speed and efficiency. The bike’s geometry provides for a more forward-leaning and aerodynamic riding position. These nimble and fast-handling bikes are generally best suited to more experienced cyclists. However, many guests find road bikes more enjoyable than other bicycle types since they can make your ride more streamlined. Click HERE to see our range

Mountain Bikes: for off-road use and over rugged terrain, a mountain bike is the best choice. Mountain bikes offer an upright riding position for better visibility and have flat handlebars for superior steering control. They are equipped with fat, knobby, shock-absorbing tires. A typical mountain bike also has suspension to remove the sting from bumpy terrain and a wide gear range for climbing steep hills. Mountain bikes are heavier than road bikes, but more comfortable to ride off-road. Mountain bikes are available on select tours with the appropriate terrain. Click HERE to see our range

Electric Assisted Bikes: e-bikes provide extra boost to your own pedal power, so you can ride longer distances, tackle tougher climbs, and maintain a faster pace. Electric assist is an excellent option if you’re traveling with friends or family and don’t ride at the same level, or if your heart is set on exploring a region with more challenging cycling. A: Based on your instruction we prepare your bike which can be collected on our store at the agreed and confirmed date and time. Please visit us HERE

A: You can pick the bike up starting at 9:00 AM in the store and deliver back latest 18:00 PM. We are open 7 days per week.

A: Please bring a photo identification document (driver’s license, government issued ID or passport) and credit card with raised numbers. We take a credit card imprint and photo ID for security deposit and then give back to you. Please read carefully about our loss and damage deposit policy later.

A: Delivery and collection is not included in our rental fees. Our guests normally come to our store and collect the bikes. However, for a small fee you can get the bike delivered to and collected from your holiday address. Charges may vary based on quantity and location. Please let us know during the reservation process your preferred way of collection of the bike.  

A: We provide helmet, under seat repair kit with spare inner tube and tyre lever, pump or air cartridge, water holder with water bottle free. For a small extra charge, you can also hire front basket, pannier rack, child rear seat, front and rear lamps or GARMIN GPS unit with your bike. The unit will be fitted with your bicycle and a mechanic will make adjustments as necessary before you leave. Note if you are on a self-guided tour holiday the GPS is provided as part of the package. Please instruct us during the reservation so we can check availability and confirm costs.

A: Yes, with the rental bicycle one helmet per person is provided free.

A: Bicycles come with flat pedals except the road bikes for which we can provide Shimano SPD or Shimano SPD SL pedals free. However, since in the market, there are too many different types of pedals, we always suggest bringing yours which we are happy to fit.

A: Yes, all rental bicycle come with a free lock.

A: No, they don`t. However, to make your cycling experience more comfortable we can fit a basket on your mountain or e-bike. Please ask for the extra rates during the reservation. Road Bikes cannot host a basket due to the shape of the handlebar.

A: Our bikes are not equipped with lights, but you can rent front and rear lamps for the maximum safety of your evening rides.

A: Bikes like to sleep indoors, just like people. If you’re staying in a hotel, check with the reception to find out if they have any dedicated bike storage places or you can take your bike to your room. Keeping the bike indoors overnight is the best way to avoid potential damage or theft.

A: We are pleased to work with large groups (10+ people), please contact us for details on rates and requirements.

A: Yes, we have bikes available to rent suitable for children aged from 2 years old. Please see the below table as guidance for best fit of your children.

We also have child seats which can be fitted to any adult bike. These are suitable for children between about 1 and 4 years old. Our ‘tagalong’ bikes trailers are attached to an adult bike and are suitable for children under 8 who do not want to ride by themselves.

A: For road bikes we suggest you bring your own helmet and pedals. In case you don’t want to overload your luggage, we can supply helmet and Shimano SL or Shimano SPD SL pedals free.

A: The minimum rental period is 1 day. We do not rent bikes on hourly rates. Please see our rental schedule for each bike HERE

A: Please plan your visit to our shop and try to arrive on the agreed time. If you are late at pickup, we will keep your reservation for 1 hour. Please call us at +34 965 770 490 if you already know that you need more time. After 1 extra hour and if you did not contact us, your bikes may not be available.

A: Equipment returned late will incur a charge of 10 Euro per hour when returned after the agreed upon return time / date unless otherwise arranged with Siesta Advisor Javea.

A: As long as we don’t have any other reservations for this bike or we have sufficient other bikes of the same model available for other customers, you can extend the rental period at any time by calling, sending a mail or visiting our shop personally.

A: Of course, you can return the bike anytime during our opening hours. But we would like to make you aware of the fact, that in this case, we can’t pay off the difference.

A: We have a routes page on our site where you can view a selection of our local rides. To go to our routes page, click here. GPX routes are available to download at our shop. You can also upload your rides via our designated customer pc.

A: Yes, we will gladly store your bags safely while you’re exploring Javea and the surroundings with our bikes, at no extra cost. Maximum duration for free storage would be a day. Please contact us in case you need secure storage for longer than a day period.

A: Our bicycles are professionally maintained and checked before every bike rental. Should you need any assistance or experience any problems with the rental bicycle during your rental period, please contact us immediately. We will provide you with details for how to get to the closest bike shop. If this is not the option, please rest assured we will do our very best to give you roadside assistance and recovery. If you have a break down that was caused in any way by faulty maintenance, we replace your bike, so you can carry on with your tour as planned.

A: We take great pride in our gear and hope you will enjoy and appreciate the value and performance of our top of the line equipment. We ask you to respect our sport equipment while it is in your possession and take care of the bike as if it were your own. Please return all equipment in good condition and report any problems you had, damage caused, and/or any repairs needed.

For reasonable damages, we won’t charge anything to you. Except those due to normal use, you are responsible for any damage to or theft of the bicycle. Please read carefully about our loss and damage deposit policy later.

A: For you to enjoy your holiday fully, we recommend you get a travel insurance and make sure, that they cover the costs in case of bicycle theft.

A: Remember that when you hire a bike you are responsible for any damage or theft. Our bikes are not insured against theft and we cannot insure the individual bike rentals. Please make sure you lock the bike to bike racks or other immovable objects, closely follow our instructions regarding security and safety and act irresponsibly all the time. Please read carefully about our loss and damage deposit policy later.

A: A loss and damage deposit is required for each bike hired. The amount of this refundable security deposit will vary depending on the value of bike being hired and will be held on your Credit / Debit Card at collection and refunded upon complete return. We will take a swipe of your card for this deposit which will need to be pre-authorised by your bank. Like a car rental company or a hotel, a deposit is not a charge, but a hold placed on your funds. The security deposit includes all add-ons (accessories).

The hirer will be liable to pay in full the cost of any loss or damage of the bike and equipment which may be over and above that of the security deposit. If by any unforeseen event your bike gets stolen, we will file a police report on your behalf against the thief and card will be charged at full replacement retail cost. The amount when settled, then depending on your policy details, can be claimed back from your Travel Insurance company.

A: Yes, at pickup you will have to sign our waiver. Legal guardians must sign for anyone under 18 years old of age.

A: If there has been an injury, please call ambulance, dial 112 first. If you are qualified to administer first aid and there is a need, please help out to the limit of your abilities. As in any accident, exchange information with any other affected party and collect contact information from witnesses. When appropriate give us a call on +34 965 770 490 and we can take it from there. If needed, we might be able to come pick you and the bike up.

A: Yes, as required by law we as registered tour operator has public liability insurance.

If you are under 18, you will need to have a responsible adult to complete the disclaimer and provide suitable photo ID. They will need to declare that they take full responsibility for yours’s, and the bikes, safety during the hire period. Under 16’s must be accompanied at all times during hire period.

A: Our guides are here to show you the roads only locals and professional cyclists are lucky enough to ride. You name your type of ride, and we will show you the best Javea and the surrounding areas has to offer. A full day guided ride will be 3 hours and beyond and a half day guided ride will be up to 3 hours. Browse our tours HERE.

A: Yes, we sell second hand bikes maintained to the highest standards. Please contact us if you are interested in buying a used bike.

Day Trips

A: Our day trips all start from our shop in Javea and end there. See map HERE.

A: Yes we have pre-planned routes for road cycling, mountain biking, touring and general cruising. Come into our shop and we plan your routes with you on a personalised basis and provide you with GPS routes you can download or use on one of our Garmin devices.

A: We offer two types of day trip currently…

Self guided trips: you can rent a bike, and pick a route with our help and take a GPS device to navigate you through the day.

Private guided day trips: We do provide private day trips for groups where a member of the Relax`N`Ride team will guide your group for the day. These guided excursions can take place on any day, pending availability. Please inquire. These are idea for corporate, school or training camp style events.

All private guided day trips start and end at our shop, based on a minimum group size of 4 cyclists

Note we are developing some broader guided tours where we start at the shop, and take you on a culinary and geographical journey across multiple towns and havens of beauty across the Costa Blanca.

A: They vary between 2-7 hours, we have plenty for you to choose from.

A: There is no minimum for a our self guided day trips. If you want a guided private day trips then the minimum is 4 cyclists.

A: Our self guided day trips are graded so you can pick one to suit your level. We have day trips that cater for beginners all the way through to advanced levels. Our private guided day trips cater for your specific needs so rest assured we can work with you and your family or group to provide an amazing experience no matter what level you are at now.

A: No, we don`t. We find that there is such an array of products out there, and that clients have such a specific preference for one type / flavour over another, that we ask you to bring your own energy gels.

Holiday accommodation & holiday packages

A: Yes, we do. Through our partners, we can transfer you, your group and the bikes to and from Alicante or Valencia Airports. However, experience tells us that most guests like to rent a car, so they have flexibility and independence while on holiday.

  • 5* hotels for smaller groups and families
  • large luxury Ibiza and finca style villas for bigger groups between 14-24 people
  • and of course, our mid-size villas for groups of 4-8 people.

A: Yes, of course. Non-cycling partners can enjoy the other activities at your chosen accommodation, e.g. Golf, Kayaking, Swimming, Beach, Yoga, SUP, or just relaxing round the pool. We can advise based on specific requirements. Siesta Advisor our multi-activity business partner can certainly help with this.

PLANNING FOR YOUR TRIP

A: For your own comfort we recommend you bring 2-3 pairs of cycling shorts and tops. For most of the year you will also need sunglasses, sun protection cream, after sun lotion and a cotton scarf to protect the back of your neck from the sun. If you are prone to sunburn, then long-sleeved T-shirts and full gloves will offer additional protection. During the winter months we would also recommend that you bring some waterproof cycling kit…. just in case.

Travel insurance is compulsory on all our holidays. We are unfortunately not able to check through individual policies, but if you have cover for the things below then we are happy with that!

Compulsory: That your insurance covers you for road cycling (touring as opposed to racing or competitive cycling).

Compulsory: That it covers medical expenses and repatriation.

Optional: holiday cancellation or curtailment (we get a high number of cancellations due to injury during training)

Optional: damage, theft or loss of personal belongings and sport equipment e.g. bikes!

Please bring the policy number and Contact Number for the company on holiday with you, written onto a health/insurance form that we will send you just before the trip that requires those details. Bring the form with you on the trip and hand it in to your guides on the first evening of your trip!
